The Art of Home.

New life was breathed into this historic home in the heart of Shorewood, art filled and colorful, honoring the past yet designed for modern living.

Peabody’s Principal Interior Designer Emily Winters refreshed this historic home, room by room, showcasing art with uniquely elegant details, creating inviting spaces bursting with color. The client wished to highlight her art collection and to honor the historic nature of the house, modernly and with color. Emily offered the best of both worlds, artful touches to honor the past that feel fresh and new. From the mudroom to the master bedroom, each room is cohesive and also unique. Color was of major importance; the palette grew from the choices made in the dining room. Décor and furnishings were new and antique, selecting custom pieces with modern sophistication. The foyer sets the stage, a mirror welcomes with luxury and a whimsical cow painting says we’re not too serious. The rich purple wallpaper and gold ceiling complement an original terracotta tile floor. The den invites with bold color and a standout sofa. The powder room juxtaposes wallpaper with the original carved marble sink beautifully. The lamps and nightstands in the master bedroom offer dramatic balance. This warm and welcoming Shorewood home came to life with color, art and numerous well-appointed details.
